There's something different today on Souled Song. I love Fantasia, right from her win on American Idol, I've been a fan. I patiently waited for her new album, The Definition of.., and I didn't wait in vain. My favorite song on that album is "I Made It" ft Tye Tribbett (Another fav artist of mine). It was released at an awesome time in...
From the very beginning... "I...wa-as..." I froze unable to complete my statementI tried looking up. It felt surreal.I felt somewhat pressured.Sophia and few other College Press Club members courteously videoed and followed the incident.I stood akimbo facing the fearfully dreaded panel of lecturers."I was...well it all started when I declined Bukky's birthday party invitation during my first year because it fell during the...

I'm Late
Hey lovely readers, I apologize for the late post today. My event, Power Lunch and Workshop is on Saturday and I've been busy running around for that. Please permit me an absence today on Pep Talk. Don't want to rush any writing and I'll put it up anytime I can or just let it be till next Wednesday :) .. Countdown to Saturday!...
I'm wondering why I never posted this on the blog. I think it's because most of my readers are either on my personal Facebook or Page. So some weeks ago, I was published on two amazing platforms, Pulse Ng and Stella Dimorkorkus' Blog. I was also privileged to be interviewed on Africa Business Radio. I'm grateful for these opportunities and if you are...
A few years ago, me and many of my friends entered what I call the “pressure cooker years”. This time period, usually starting around age 24, is when the pressure gets real. The pressure that I describe is the sudden rush to settle down and marry. It often comes from older friends and family members who subscribe to the idea that settling down (whatever...
Woke up this morning thinking of what today's TMNS topic will be. Checked my email then saw this mail I got from the creator of the 10 Day Blog challenge I partook in. Imagine me scrolling down to see my name on the list of winners! Ah are you kidding me? I won something? That has never happened to me mainly because I...
That is very correct. Souled Song is officially a column on the blog and sits along side Snap Recipes for Friday slot. Either one or both of them will be posted on Fridays. So today, we have a song that is amazeballs. It was one of my go to songs while I was writing my finals. I don't know how I just found...
I swear sometimes I just do spontaneous things. Some weeks ago, I created this BBM channel just because I want to interact with more people. You know I have more time on my hands now. I don't know why I didn't share the info since, let's just say I forgot. Some days ago, my Msc time table was released and it turns out...
Mr Maxwell stood lifeless facing the large window in his officeI entered still looking mournful. There was a long silence and my heartbeat was unstable. I was really nervous. "Miss Igwe" he called in a surprisingly calm toneMr Maxwell was certainly known to be a man of action. He indeed was."A report has reached us from your classmate and..." He turned around. I was looking at...
It's week 5 on Self Growth and today, the topic is on Education. Education can be either your degree or other means of educating yourself (e.g reading books etc) or both. I will start with the degree type. I've been in a Uni environment for a while now and I've seen people stay redundant in a particular level purely because of their "I...
On Friday when all my hopes got shattered with just one phone call, I started asking God why and all that jazz we always ask Him when we are disappointed. Fast forward to Saturday, I was about to mutter an "if" prayer and the Holy spirit just told me to stop it. Then wise nuggets started dropping. Let me write them just as they were dropped.
- Why are you giving God a condition?
- Do you know how to tell the difference between God's answered prayer and otherwise?
- Do you know satan is also listening to the prayer?
- Are you truly mentally ready for the answer to that prayer?
- Our plans were actually working out and I felt this was an answered prayer. I'm not wasting my time with this guy, I thought.
- I started accepting rubbish because I thought they were things one would go through in a relationship. After all, he's my answered prayer right? He's the one for me.
- I stayed in an emotionally abusive relationship regardless.
- I knew all these things were wrong but I was strong to believe God definitely answered my if prayer because the condition I gave was visibly working out.
- Months passed and I was still claiming relationship regardless until my eyes opened and I realized how foolish I've been. I was lucky enough to break it off that instant.
- Why are you giving God condition over your life when He knows you better than you know yourself? He already has a plan for you and the only way that won't actualize is if you let Him go. He doesn't need any condition because He controls conditions. He doesn't need any help whatsoever from you to complete His plans. He has set it out and regardless of any condition you give, it will still pan out the way He wants it.
- Are you spiritually sound to know when God has answered your prayer? As at when I made this prayer, I was not spiritually up there to know if it was God answering my prayer or the devil. The devil clings on conditions, he will go beyond every means to make your condition happen so that it will blind your judgement and make you let go of your boundaries because the condition you gave has been answered.
- Satan listens, he hears. Satan is lurking around but the angels surrounding you are the ones not letting him in. When you mutter any prayer, he runs with it and start looking for ways to gold-plate that prayer and make it look like real gold. Before you mutter a prayer you know satan will look to work on, remember he is also listening. Don't give out conditional prayers but rather let God know you will accept His will in every aspect of your life. Now satan can't alter God's will so there's nothing he can do about that prayer.
- Now let's imagine, God wants to answer that prayer. Are you ready for the answer? In the example I gave, what if the answer was "He's not the one for you" and all our plans didn't work out, wouldn't I be shattered? I already wanted the answer to be affirmative because I already accepted the idea of getting back with him. The prayers were not answered, I just wrapped my head around a delusional answered prayer.
I know a lot of people say "If" prayers. Another one common amongst students is "God, IF i get this admission, I will worship you throughout my years in that school." You will get the admission because you've been destined to, not because of your IF prayer. Funny thing is you wouldn't even remember the condition you gave and satan will lead you to another path because of the condition you gave, he will make sure that condition doesn't work for your good. Let's say you even remember your condition, you will live your years in that school because of that condition not because you really want to. You will be indebted to that condition because you think you will lose everything if that condition is not met.
God is not a God of condition. He does not work based on your time but on His. Learn to trust on His timing and leave everything to Him. He will guide you to your destiny if you let Him. Every answer we need lies in His word, the Holy Bible. Never forget.
Love,
Dedun
When I started this challenge, 10 days seemed so far and I didn't know what to expect. It didn't help that I blog everyday normally, I now decided to add an extra post to the daily blog post. Haba that already panned out to be hectic. I stopped the challenge on Day 6 not because I wanted to but because real life was...
I can imagine a free life where location won't be a determining factor in my work life. Imagine been able to work from anywhere, thanks to the technology age, how "fun" that would be. Vacay + Work = perfect. Of course, it's not every time you are on vacay you would want to work. I would love to be a traveling entrepreneur to be...
Day 8 was on Saturday and it was supposed to be a fun day. Go out, do something fun and blog about it. Coincidentally, Saturday was my Graduation day so that's something fun right? ahahah. It was something new and I tried to make it as fun as I could. Late morning was the ceremony. Screamed, laughed, took loads of pictures then came...
On day 7, it's about procrastination. We've been told to pick something we procrastinate on a lot and imagine doing it consistently for 30 days. I have picked my daily devotional. I won't lie to you and say I'm the perfect Christian. I've gone days without reading my devotional but I never forget to pray though. Prior to last week, the max days...
I've missed a number of days on this challenge but I'm still going to catch up and write either way. Day 6 was about finding one's tribe. Your tribe will consist of people that support you and your made-to-fit cheerleaders that will always be there even when life isn't rosy. My current tribe consists of my ever supportive family and genuine friends that...
My story or should I say experience on comparison started at a very young age. My mum left the medical field for teaching (Mathematics) in order to keep up with the family my Dad was always traveling and out of the country due to his job as an Engineer. We were basically left with house maids and all, before I digress, just wanted to...

This post will be simple and short because my today has been a rollercoaster. Would've let Day 5 pass by but I have to stay committed. I chose to partake in the challenge after all. My daily Success plan will include Get the day's work done which includes writing the daily blog post, attending to orders/clients. Visit my life's goals and think of...
Another Pep Talk Wednesday is upon us and we are still on the Self Growth Topic. Part of Self Change and Growth is one's attitude towards life and it's happenings. One's attitude projects an outcome. If it's a positive attitude, you'd get a positive outcome and if it's negative, negative outcome. You can't harbor a negative attitude and expect things to work out...
It's Day 4 on This blog challenge and we are talking about Super Powers. Obviously, I'm no SuperWoman with a S tatted on my fat belly but I do have a skill I can perhaps tag a Super Power. Guess what it is. Yeah you probably guessed right, or not! LOL ! It's MultiTasking. Ah I can Multi-Task for Africa! Have you met...
The tongue is the most poisonous thing. Sure you are wondering why I am calling God's creation poisonous, well the tongue is not poisonous except you make it so. That is where the gift of choice comes in. God has given us the gift to choose between good and evil. The tongue becomes extremely poisonous when you choose to use it for "bad-will"....
